Entrepreneurship at its most basic, comes down to not quitting. In entrepreneurship and in endurance sports, the only time you lose is if you quit. If you simply don't quit, it never ends. And so, just keep going till you win. And that is a great entrepreneurship lesson. Obviously, my father was the founder of Trepp, and if I'd gone there and I had succeeded, everyone would have just assumed it was because my dad was the founder, and if I'd gone there and I had failed, it would have been even worse.

So, I wanted to start on my own and do my own thing, which I did for about four years in banking, and then an opportunity arose where Rick, Eric, and I could start a company from scratch. And we did, no clients, basically no people, no revenue. It was fun to build it from scratch and know that I could own what I built. People self-limit so much in life, where they see something and they claim they want it, but then they see how hard it is and so they stop.

I think one of the things that's beautiful about entrepreneurship is those are the people that don't. Who see those hard things and forge forward anyway.
